insadong

streets of insadong
to get to insadong, get off at anguk station (exit 6), and walk straight. approximately 200 metres ahead is the entrance to insadong-gil street, which showcases art galleries, traditional craft stores and tea houses. the whole of insadong is really crowded, and usually packed with foreigners and tourist groups, especially on weekends as it converts into a vehicle-free road. however, it is fun to visit when the flea market opens and booths selling snacks and tiny knick-knacks are set up.

ssamziegil
there is also a very famous flea market called ssamziegil at insadong, which houses a lot of small shops, and has a really unique roundabout one-way staircase up the various levels. it's a good visit if you wish to obtain souvenirs like traditional korean snacks, accessories and antiques.
